“BYD to launch electric E-Vali van in UK.”
BYD’s electric E-Vali van, revealed at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Germany, is set to hit the UK market in the latter half of next year. Already selling cars in the UK, this will be BYD’s first light commercial vehicle, introduced via a specialised dealership network.
Weighing between 3.5 and 4.25 tonnes, as noted by product manager Dirk Zhou, the E-Vali has been tailored for European customers. It offers two wheelbase options (3,865mm or 4,550mm), one height (2,780mm), and cargo volumes of either 13.9m³ or 17.9m³, with a payload capacity of up to 1,450kg.
On a full charge, the E-Vali is expected to deliver a range between 137 and 156 miles, thanks to its 150kW motor and 80.6kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. Recharging from 10% to 80% capacity can be achieved in approximately 30 minutes using a rapid charger.

Practicality is enhanced by twin rear doors, a sliding side door, and a bulkhead door for easy access to the cargo area. Inside, drivers benefit from modern tech features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice recognition, and wireless charging. The van is also equipped with an adjustable driver’s seat and a built-in cool box.
Safety-wise, the E-Vali comes packed with features such as adaptive cruise control, collision warnings, emergency braking, lane assist, and blind spot detection.
BYD’s E-Vali is initially launching as a van, with a chassis cab to follow. While the rear-wheel drive version will be available first, a 4x4 model is also planned.
